Phonics
Students will learn exciting new concepts, which help them develop fundamental
reading skills including letter sounds, phonograms, consonant teams, blending,
sight words, consonant blends. Below is a sampling in each area.
1. Phonological Awareness:
• Isolate sounds in three- and four-letter words.
• Practice phonemic substitution.
2. Decoding (Phonics):
• Learn phonograms A-Z, and short vowel words containing new phonograms.
• Read words ending.
• Read long vowel words and its phonemes.
• Read words with initial blends.
• Read words with initial blends.
• Read words with final blends.
3. Fluency:
• Read with accuracy.
